A Christian Journalist Glorifying God in the New York Times

I like to highlight ways that God is glorified in the media, and I can think of no clearer example than a lengthy cover story of this week's New York Times magazine about my dear friend, Mike Allen, chief political correspondent for Politico.  The title says it all: "The Man the White House Wakes Up To."  Mike has visited our church, and is a part of the new Sovereign Grace church in Arlington.  Mike's faith in Christ is genuine (and clear in this story), and his humility is evident to anyone who is near him -- he's one of the most respected (and probably the most influential) journalist in the country, but if you try to ask him about himself, he immediately is seeking to get to know you, asking questions about your life.   read more »

The gospel in recent media

Isn't it refreshing to see the gospel proclaimed in a place
you don't expect it?  One regular
occurrence of this has been seeing Tim Tebow proclaim his faith in numerous
places, whether Bible verses he wears on game day, or talking about Christ in
the media (and while I'm glad as a University of South Carolina fan he will no
longer be at Florida, he is one of the most genuine Christian athletes I know
of).  Last night we saw another
wonderful example of this as Texas quarterback Colt McCoy, sidelined in the
first quarter by an injury proclaim his trust in God's sovereignty.
