A book for Easter

It's rare for me to even think about recommending a book that I haven't yet read.  There are probably 4 living authors that I would do that for, and D.A. Carson is one of them.  This new book by D.A. Carson (which we will be stocking shortly in our bookstore) promises to be among the most accessible of Carson's works, as it is a collection of 5 messages that Carson gave at a recent conference on Jesus' death and resurrection, titled, "Scandalous."  This would be a fantastic book to go through as individuals or families to prepare our hearts for the glory of Easter.

Review of "This Momentary Marriage"

The thought of the temporary nature of marriage can be troubling to those of us who are so grateful for the gift of our spouse.  Jesus made clear that in heaven there will be no marriage (Luke 20:34-38).  For that reason, John Piper has titled his latest book, This Momentary Marriage, and I commend it to you as one of the most Christ-exalting treatments on the subject I’ve found, and it is written not only for those who are married, but for those who are single, whether never married or now divorced.  Who should read this book?  You should.  Yes, you!  read more »
