Noah Chiasms

Posted on 05/07/2009       Categories:

This past Sunday I preached on the flood narrative, and among the things I dicussed was how the primary point of the narrative can be seen through an examination fo a particular literary feature that Moses employed in his composition of the flood story.  Here are the two chiasms that I referenced for your own edification!  Be amazed at not only the literary genius of the Scriptures, but at the truth the center of these chiasms remind us of -- The Lord remembered Noah.  And he remembers us too. (UPDATE: For some reason this doesn't show up formatted correctly, so I've attached the chiasms in a Word document as well).

A  Noah and his sons 6:9a
B  Noah and the world before the flood 6:9b-12
C  Divine announcement and covenant 6:13-22
D  Enters the ark 7:1-5
