New Member's Course

If you desire to pursue membership or learn more about Grace Community Church, join us for our New Member's Course.  Our first class will take place on September 12, with two more classes on October 3 and 24.  Childcare and lunch will be provided at 1pm and class will begin at 1:30pm.  To sign up and to receive additional information, visit the Information Table.

Baptism

Our next baptism will take place on October 17.  If you or your child would like to participate, please visit the Information Table to sign up and receive additional instructions.  Parents, training materials are available at the Information Table for you to use in preparing your child for baptism.  Please note that this material may take time to work through with your child so make sure to leave adequate time to do so.  As always, if you would like to be baptized sooner than the scheduled time, please don't hesitate to contact the church office and we will gladly set up an alternate date for you.

Theology Class

Our Theology Course will be suspended briefly.  However, Kirk Whitworth will once again lead us through our regularly scheduled material starting Sunday, September 12 at 6:30pm at the Ahrens NRPA (22377 Belmont Ridge Rd, Ashburn).  We look forward to seeing you then!

GEMS

There is still time to register for our upcoming GEMS (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior) Club!  This club is uniquely designed for girls (grades 1-6) and their mothers.  Club meetings will be held twice a month beginning in September.  To find out more or to sign up, visit the Information Table.

Peacemaker Conference

Join Peacemaker Ministries in Washington D.C. during September 16-19 to explore the topic of forgiveness. Main Session speakers will include Joshua Harris, Ken Sande and more.  Further information regarding a special registration discount is available at the Information Table.

CCEF Marriage Conference

Join the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation during November 11-14 for One: For Better and Worse....A Look at Marriage. During this year's general sessions, CCEF will walk through the entire epistle of Ephesians to help us discover together that marriage is a call unto God and unto one another.  We'll learn to love as one and even fight as one.  And we'll explore the calling to be husband and wife in union with Christ within the body of Christ.  To find out more, visit the Information Table to pick up a brochure.

Lost In The Middle Seminar

You are invited to a two day conference with pastor and author Paul Tripp at Covenant Life Church during September 10-11.  While the Lost In The Middle Seminar is open to everyone, it is specifically designed for men and women who are in their 30s and older. Oftentimes, Christians in this season of life find themselves having forgotten or replaced their identity in Christ with dissapointments or shattered dreams and with regrets that weigh heavily on their souls.  Paul Tripp's winsome and penetrating way of sharing and applying the gospel and the truths of God's word will encourage and strengthen believers by rekindling their hope, faith, and spiritual vitality.  Online registration is free at www.covlife.org, but required.

Strollers

For safety purposes, please keep aisles free of baby strollers or other obstructions.  You may park strollers in one of the seating sections where chairs have been removed (near the main aisle by the auditorium entrance doors), or in the back sections of the auditorium.  Please feel free to ask an usher for assistance.

Covenant Mercies

We have the privilege of partnering with Covenant Mercies, an organization affiliated with Sovereign Grace Ministries, in offering financial assistance to orphans in Africa.  To find out how you can help an orphan in need, visit the Information Table.

Film Clips Needed

Do you know someone whose life was changed because of our church?  Sovereign Grace Ministries is looking for 30-second film clips for this year's Mission Presentation or to be featured on their website.  Submit by July 1 to be considered.  Further details at www.sovereigngraceministries.org/About/MissionPresentations/FilmContest

Elyse Fitzpatrick Seminar Audio

Ladies, the audio from Elyse Fitzpatrick's recent women's seminar at Covenant Life Church, "Because He Loves Me," is now available online.  To download the messages and outlines free of charge, visit www.covlife.org and click on "Resource Library".

Mother's Infant Care Room Needs

We are in need of a video camera and tripod that could be used each Sunday during the service to supply a live video feed to our Mother's Infant Care Room.  If you are interested in either donating used equipment or volunteering to bring and run your own on a rotating basis, please contact us at office [at] gracecommunity [dot] ws

Sunday Morning Serving Opportunity

To serve our mothers using our Mother's Infant Care Room on Sunday mornings, we would like to set up a video camera in the auditorium to capture the service so that they can watch it live.  If you are available to set up camera equipment on Sunday mornings or have a video camera that you would like to either give away or loan on an ongoing basis towards this need, please contact the church office at (office [at] gracecommunity [dot] ws).

Children's Ministry Volunteers Needed

Our Sunday morning Children's Ministry is looking for volunteers to serve in a variety of new capacities.  If you have children in Children's Ministry or if you enjoy working with children, please consider how you may serve in this area.

Ministry Team Opportunity

Each Sunday, our service is coordinated and implemented by many servants.  If you would like to join them, we have several serving opportunities currently available!  Our sound team is looking for volunteers who would be willing to help set up and tear down our sound system before and after the service.  No experience is required for this position.  The welcome team is in need of helpers to set up and prepare coffee before church begins on a monthly basis.  An opening is also available on this team for someone to staff the Information Table on the 5th Sunday of each month.  For more information regarding any of these opportunities, please e-mail the church office at office [at] gracecommunity [dot] ws.

Classified Ads

Classified ads for Grace Community Church members are available at the Information Table for your convenience.  These ads include information from Grace Community members regarding items for sale, rentals and more.  If you would like to submit an advertisement in this publication, please e-mail it to office [at] gracecommunity [dot] ws.

Facility Reminders

As we seek to care for the building that we are priviledged to meet in each Sunday, we would like to ask for your help in making sure that your children stay within the rooms and hallways designated for our use and that they stay away from the various fire alarms located in the facility.  Thank you!

Service Radio Transmission

Our Sunday morning service is now being transmitted on FM 93.1.  Any radio or walkman should be able to pick up this frequency within Briar Woods High School.  Whether you are hearing impaired or a parent of small children walking the hallway during the service, we hope this option will be helpful.
